I think I need to get my blog a bit more active, now that I have all the time in the world until September looms around the corner.
Isn't it exciting, summer? The awesome part about summer is movies. For those who know me, you definitely know that I'm a movie buff. So in case you haven't noticed, this summer is incredibly packed with blockbusters such as The Amazing Spiderman, The Dark Knight Rises, Snow White and the Huntsman Men In Black 3, Brave (woo hoo!), Prometheus, Dark Shadows and The Avengers.
[the ones in orange color are the ones that I've watched already]
I cannot get enough of Hawkeye. The archer of the A-team. Wait, I think I fancy Jeremy Renner more than Hawkeye. Yeah, I do. I'm so proud to say that I knew him in The Town when he was Oscar-nominated for his role as an antagonist before he became more prominent in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.
I love his interviews when he's with Scarlett Johansson when they did the press junket for The Avengers. Their chemistry off-screen is just as good as it was on-screen. Part of me would go, "Oh, just hook-up already!" and the other part would go, "Don't you dare hook up with Johansson".
Ooh, I could go all giggly excited when I see The Bourne Legacy. My mom was so proud that a part of Manila was filmed, I bet she's going to ask us to watch it together.
But let's just say that it's not easy for me to watch a fast-paced movie with her. That's another story.
I hope they won't use old, seen-it-in-other-movies-before tricks to go past securities or to execute a target. We've already seen what the ol' Jason Bourne could do with his bare hands. So, I look forward to a fresh new take on action movies.
Last weekend, our family went to catch Men In Black 3, the film that I did not expect to come up with another sequel like this. Going back to the late sixties was alright with me. In fact, I could've sworn that I was the only laughing when Agent K and J bumped into Andy Warhol (I was incredulous that my mom asked "who's Andy Warhol?" I nearly got a heart attack.)
It was an enjoyable movie, but not the type that I would watch again.
Then the week before that, we caught Dark Shadows. I praise Depp's performance for his character that has a sarcastic and dark sense of humor, but... yeah, I'm sorry to say that I expected more from Tim Burton.
The Avengers. Fu-yoh, the climax was amazing. I stumbled across this post on tumblr explaining in detail about the conflict between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers aka Captain America. It made sense as to why Tony Stark didn't like Captain America initially. Seeing how much Stark's father spent most of his time searching for Captain America (Cap), he was hardly there for his son. I wish to elaborate more on this but you get the idea.
A-a-and. Next week, I'm finally able to catch Snow White and the Huntsman! My favorite actors Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Ian McShane are going to be in the film and words are not enough to describe how incredibly excited I am to see this film. I even told my friend that to the extent, should I braid my hair like how Snow White's was braided, too?
Ha ha, I'm such a fan girl.
I'll continue blogging about the benefits of this summer. Cheers!
