It's a small world. After more than 10 years of no contact with her, I finally met my primary school friend back in Seafield 3 (now called USJ 8).
My friend, Shy, invited me over to her place for a BBQ dinner. God, the meat was delicious. I never really had the opportunity to have a BBQ steak, chicken. AND LAMB altogether at once. When her cousins came over, she asked me if a name JL rang a bell. It didn't hit me at first, so I said, "No".
Heck, I didn't even recognize JL when we were first introduced! Only when she brought up that JL went to Seafield, it hit me then and there: Omaigod, that's JL!
I asked her how are the others doing now. This may sound silly of me but back then when I was 7-8, I was a late bloomer. I didn't understand what the hell are exams, why was I not allowed to eat outside the canteen, and such. I have a very vague memories studying in Seafield (actually I don't even remember if I even studied for tests or exams. God, I feel so dumb now) and I don't remember much memories I had with friends when I was in Standard 1. I don't remember who were my close friends were (DG and I were not close) but I do remember names.
So when JL told me that she has a picture with us together, I was really happy that someone has captured one moment of my Seafield days. I don't even remember if I have many friends, but whatever.
I even realized that my parents had NO CLUE who my friends were when I was in Seafield. Wait, wait, they knew ONE person (Alia) and period. They only knew DG when I went to SKBK 2.
Sometimes I wonder if my friends from Seafield still remembers me. And if they do remember me, I hope it's good memories that I've left for them to treasure. If I've ever treated you unfairly, I'm truly sorry.
I even reconnected with another Seafield friend that I've met in Standard 4. Her name was J too and I remember that she has brother two years older than us.
Back then, I think I even thought that he was cute. But I was only 10, so I wasn't sure what was my taste like.
And so when I saw him on Facebook, I thought, "Oh, my gawd, he's super cute now....."
So I did have good taste then! Ha ha ha ha.
Here's a picture of JL and I at Shy's dinner gathering two Sundays ago.
I look forward to my new adventures/tortures in UK.
